Success for Emerald Sponsored ‘Scoil Naomh Pádraig’ in Milrose Games in Manhattan!

April 2017

Congrats to the Irish athletes who took part in the Milrose Games longest-running indoor track meeting in the world which takes place in Manhattan!

Emily Kelly from Donegal finished third and eight year old Bernard Ibirogba from Kildare won the boys race.

Also in attendance and watching on proudly was Sean Connolly, a former Irish elite distance runner who trained at Iona College in the US in his 20s before eventually returning to Ireland, where he pushes athletics with a fanatical zeal at Scoil Naomh Pádraig in the Curragh.

Connolly thanked Alan Ward of Emerald Facility Services and the Dublin Marathon, both of whom have given the school generous sponsorship to fund their athletics programme over the past two years.

Ibirogba emerged from a DEIS school – a programme designed to offer support to schools in disadvantaged areas and Emerald Facilities are proud to sponsor such a successful and worthy school.
