Our Senior Management Team


Good leaders motivate, inspire, guide and enthuse others in the organisation to meet and exceed its goals. Good leaders make decisions with and for stakeholders, taking into account their needs, and they see the big picture without losing sight of the details.

As our business is family owned our Managing Director, Alan Ward plays a vital part in our day to day business and our Senior Management Team elicit the best from our organisation’s most valuable asset - our human resources to serve you the client with a high standard of service at all times.

 

 

 

Fergus Sheridan, Chairman

Fergus joined the family business in 1986 and the company has grown under his guidance and direction to become one of the leading cleaning and facility services companies in Ireland.

Fergus has vast knowledge of the cleaning industry with a particular emphasis on the area of specialised cleaning methods and high level abseiling cleaning. 

 

Alan Ward, Managing Director

Alan is a qualified chartered accountant with over 6 years experience working in practice before joining Emerald FS as Finance Director in 2009. Alan's role within the company has evolved over time and he is now the Managing Director of the company. 

Alan works closely with clients in providing excellent service delivery. With his strong attention to detail, Alan supervises costing of new and existing contracts ensuring that clients receive cost efficient proposals, an excellent standard of service delivery and that all work is implemented within budget.

 

James Sheridan, Director / Window Cleaning Manager

James is responsible for maintaining and implementing our gold standard health and safety policies with a particular emphasis on our highly specialised window cleaning service.

James has an extremely hands-on approach to operations and with over 30 years’ experience in the cleaning industry James has worked his way up through every level of the business and therefore has extensive knowledge on all aspects of the cleaning sector.

James has developed strong client relationships and is committed to providing a superior quality service and “going that extra mile”.

 

Ken Lyons, Operations Director

With over 25 years’ experience, Ken has grown and developed the window cleaning and industrial cleaning aspects of the business. Ken’s expertise is in key client management and the management of cleaning projects for specialised industrial and manufacturing facilities across Ireland. 

Ken is passionate about delivering a superior level of customer service and is in regular contact with clients to ensure client satisfaction is met. Ken is also the Health and Safety Manager for Emerald FS ensuring best practice is met by Emerald FS across the industry.

Ken also works in an advisory capacity for a number of consultancy and architectural firms prior to and during the construction phase of new developments to assist in the implementation of access routes in relation to the cleaning services requirements of each development.

 

 

 

Katherine Kelly, Business Development Manager

Katherine has over 20 years’ experience in the cleaning industry and is responsible for business development in Emerald FS. A meticulous individual, Katherine is responsible for the running of the daily office cleaning department and works tirelessly to ensure the highest standards are met by all supervisors and operatives.

Katherine is passionate about enhancing the customer experience and developing strong customer relations and delivers on this through regular communication with customers.

Katherine keeps informed with industry initiatives to ensure processes are continually reviewed and improved.

 

 

 

 

 

Tomasz Belica, Area Manager

As Area Manager, Tomasz manages a number of key accounts including Government departments, hospitals, corporate offices and property management companies.

Tomasz is highly skilled in ensuring customer satisfaction through the provision of a quality service and manages all aspects of key account management from client liaison and staff management through to resolving critical issues.

Tomasz is a dedicated account manager and is available at any time to provide additional support for his clients. Tomasz has completed a number of industry relative training courses enabling her to support her team in their cleaning skills and knowledge.

 

Mick Berkley, Window Cleaning Manager

Michael has over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of the window cleaning industry. He works very closely with all of our highly trained operatives on a daily basis to support them in their functions.


Michael liaises with all clients before, during and after each assignment. Michael ensures the weekly, monthly schedules are carried out in a timely manner so that all customer needs are met and exceeded.

 

 

 

 

Mick Daly, Industrial Division Manager

Mick is highly experienced in the area of industrial cleaning and brings his vast knowledge of cleaning to client assignments. Mick works closely with clients to understand their individual requirements and utilising his knowledge and experience ensures that client objectives are met.

Mick’s down-to-earth style provides his clients with a practical approach to their cleaning requirements. Mick has a dedicated specialised Industrial team of operatives that carry out a consistent service delivery.

 

Theresa Byrne, Operations Manager

Theresa is responsible for managing the operations, ensuring the smooth running of all cleaning divisions within Emerald Facilities Services.  

Theresa has over 23 years’ experience and works very closely with Ken Lyons and James Sheridan to ensure the job planning and co-ordination that clients require are not only met, but also exceeded. 

Her personable approach means she engages with clients in a relaxed and friendly manner providing excellent standards of customer support.

 

Luke Sheils, Operations Co-ordinator

A graduate of IT Tallaght with a BSc in Accountancy, Luke co-ordinates operations in Emerald FS and works very closely with Theresa Byrne to drive the operations forward.

Luke supports the area managers, supervisors and operatives on a daily basis to ensure all labour, plant and equipment are in place to carry out assignments.

Luke regularly engages with clients ensuring client satisfaction is met and that service level agreements are kept. Luke is passionate about delivering excellent customer support and is involved in continuously improving Emeralds business processes ultimately improving service delivery for our clients.

 

Patricia Higgins, Credit Controller

With over thirty years’ experience in finance, Patricia is responsible for credit control in Emerald FS. Patricia is available to clients to answer invoice queries, issue statements and provide general customer support.

Patricia’s friendly and knowledgeable approach to credit control queries ensures our customers receive an efficient and professional service.
